Suggest something that can ignite hope for young people in a village with limited opportunities.

Actually, we can't wait long — not when 250 million children are out of school globally. Let's continue to prove that if there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that access to quality education is a fundamental human right.

Our Work

More than 1 million children, adolescents and youths in Kenya are out of school. We are on a mission to reverse this figure to zero.

Education is a basic right; every child has the right to access it around the world. However, some drop out of schools because families can't afford a dollar to sustain their education. We aim to change this to ensure that every local child in deep villages has access to the right education.

Barasa addressing Image

How It Started
In 2017, our founder, Wycliffe Barasa, was actively engaged in a project aimed at eliminating the issue of loud music being played at night in Busia County and throughout the country. During his research and discussions with teachers, parents, and students, a recurring concern emerged—the alarming rate at which students were dropping out of school.

One early morning, as he was heading to a school, he encountered 50 children who had been sent home to collect 1 dollar, approximately 100 Kenyan shillings. Recognizing the financial struggle these students faced, our founder accompanied them back to school, where he discovered other children sitting for exams. He generously covered the exam fees for all 50 children. This act not only brought joy to the students but also marked the beginning of the One Dollar Back to School Campaign.

Fuel Dreams, Support Education

Millions of children do not get past primary education. As a result, they are robbed of the opportunity to make a difference for themselves, their families, and their communities. It takes just a dollar to help change their stories. Spare that Ksh. 100 monthly to make an impact.
